Christmas Lights
Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 3:03PM I was approached this week about a design job that was an extension of existing art work. The organization has a yearly event that involves thousands and thousands of Christmas lights. The problem is that their existing artwork for the event is a little dull.
So my job was to liven the 2D up and then create something that can be used on the web for promotion as well.
The basic idea was for me to simulate Christmas lights on the outside edges without doing any 3d modeling. I'm pretty pleased with the first results.
I could be 100% off base, but I don't think I've seen this anywhere before.
The basic tools used are After Effects and Trapcode particular, with the logo created in Illustrator and Photoshop. I've adapted the look to my logo here. Still a work in progress but pretty cool I think.
